The Battle of Sandpoint. A red dragon was dazed and fell from the sky like a meteor, demolishing the home of the sorcerer who dazed it. Stone giants made off with the greedy Titus Scarnetti and Sczarni master Jubrayl Vhiski, as well as a certain piece of stone that was their true goal. The Rusty Dragon was spared for the price if a couple kegs of beer. And the Badgers lost their dungeon stronghold, but saved the town from being consumed in dragon’s fire.

Things getting underway while we wait for the last players to arrive

Battle of Sandpoint setup pt II: I statted out practically all of the named NPCs of Sandpoint. The fight would take place simultaneously in a half a dozen locations. The players could play the people of Sandpoint along with their own characters so they could participate anywhere

Setting up for the battle for Sandpoint

The badgers encounter the Mummified Offspring of Chitza-Atlan.

Four different ways of saying the same thing. The encounter description, the player handout, the DM’s map, and finally, what it looks like on the battle mat.

Dungeon Day 2/18/13

-Pridget the Wererat-

Grave tender Naffer Vosk was put in charge of Habe’s Sanatorium after Habe was executed for conspiring to perform necromancy. Naffer was great at managing Sandpoint’s graveyard, but the Sanatorium was a challenge. Much more likelihood the residents might escape the sanatorium than the graveyard (not that couldn’t be an issue there as either). Pridget, a man suffering from both lycanthropy and mania, gave Vosk the slip, and Naffer asked the Badgers for help before his boss or the Mayor find out. They finally nabbed Pridget hiding among a swarm of rats in a dungeon beneath the city.

The pic here is Bother Gerard hoisting the subdued Pridget over his shoulder for return to Vosk. Too bad for Vosk, Sheriff Hemlock found out about it and told the Mayor. Could also be bad for Hero Inglorion, one of the Badgers who was also an inmate of the Sanatorium who escaped years before, if Pridget tells Vosk who he really is…

The first session ended with a Harrow reading to fortell what’s in store for Sandpoint in the year ahead. You don’t need to know anything about Paizo’s Pathfinder Harrow Deck to see the outlook is ….not good….

The Fall of Virilax the Black Fang, and the Tragic Charge of Oysten and the last of the Orcs of Quasqueton.

The Badgers skirmished with the black dragon, finally surrounding it. Oysten and his orcs had been at the entrance and thought this was their opportunity to charge and avenge their Father. Unfortunately their move came right at the moment Virilax could breathe Acid again, and they charged right into his stream. Many fell. The Dragon was finally subdued. Brave Oysten survived, and eventually was recruited by the Badgers to captain their guard.
